This year marks the 15th Wainfest, which runs from October 10th - 22nd. Presented by Donegal County Councils Cultural.
Once again, the festival includes events in Taobh Tire Centres across the County. These are small library points in various community spaces in rural or remote areas. This means that children in these areas do not have to travel far to avail of the wide and varied range of cultural activities throughout Wainfest.
Wainfest 2011 incorporates the Children's Book Festival, a national celebration and promotion of books, which takes place in libraries throughout Ireland during October.
Highlights include the return of the ever-popular storytellers Niall de Burca, and newcomer Sancho Gallileí. The festival will also feature a visit by author Malachy Doyle. It is a festival of fun, art and culture with a variety of events that include magic, science, genealogy, puppetry, cartoon drawing, exhibitions and music workshops.
For further details about events in your area check out our Events Listings and to make a booking, please contact your local library, Taobh Tre Centre or visit www.donegallibrary.ie.
